Door County Activities

There are many great Door County activities that every vacationer should experience when visiting Door County.

Door County Fish Boil - authentic Door County fish boils are served throughout the area.  A fish boil starts with a large kettle of salted water that is heated by a hot wood fire.  Fresh whitefish from the local waters of Lake Michigan are added to the kettle.  At the perfect time kerosene is added to the fire creating a large blaze and the kettle "boils over". It is a sight you must see...and taste!

Door County Water Activities - Door County has over 300 miles of beautiful shoreline spotted with beaches, harbors and parks.  Some of the best water activities are fishing, sailing, swimming and boat rentals. 

Door County Parks - Door County has 5 state parks which offer hiking, biking, camping, swimming, snowmobiling and skiing.  The scenery is a must see at all of the state parks.

Door County Cherries - Door County is well known for it's cherry farms and is the 4th largest producer of cherries in the US.  While visiting these farms you can taste cherry pie, cherry salsa, cherry dips and many other cherry concoctions that you are likely only to see in Door County.

Door County Lighthouses - Door County is home to 10 lighthouses.  The most accessible ones are: Baileys Harbor Range Lights, Cana Island Lighthouse, Canal Station Lighthouse, and Eagle Bluff Lighthouse.  There are several great lighthouse tours you can take while in Door County.

Door County Shopping - Door County is filled with numerous little shops that offer one-of-a-kind items.  You should definitely spend a day visiting these quaint shops throughout Door County.

Door County Golfing - Door County is filled with great golf courses, each offering fantastic views of the Door Country countryside.

Door County Sunrise and Sunset - This activity will not cost you a penny but is sure to be one of the most memorable and relaxing experiences you have on your vacation to Door County.  Every day the Peninsula is filled with magnificent tones of dazzling colors across the waters of Door County.
